Job description

SVT Associates is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to become part of our team!

Position involves all aspects of the assembly process for products ranging from systems to precision mechanical components. Tasks include but are not limited to: pulling parts from inventory, cleaning parts, assembling, testing, product repairs, and shipping. Assemblers work directly with the Engineering group and will be required to determine and/or follow methods of assembly. Excellent mechanical aptitude is required, and a background in mechanical hand assembly is preferred.


Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work individually or with a team to assemble entire systems or components.

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings/schematics.

  • Test products and record products performances.

  • Prepare and package products for shipment.

  • Operate precision tools as well as basic hand tools.

  • Perform assembly-related duties.

  • Must perform all of the above tasks safely and responsibly.

  • Mechanical and shop safety knowledge required.

  • Follow all company and facility policies including quality, safety, conduct and attendance.


Education, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent is desired.

  • Previous assembly experience is desired.

  • Need to be adaptable to change.

  • Familiarity with assembly tools and equipment.

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Ability to work well in teams.

  • Must have good oral and written communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to appropriately handle stress and interact with others.

  • Must have mechanical aptitude required to assemble mechanical assemblies.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

  • Ability to perform physical activity associated with assembly of products including bending, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching in order to meet production needs.

  • Must be able to stand, sit and/or move continuously during working hours.

  • Must be able to repetitively lift up to 20 lbs, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

This is a full-time position with benefits, Monday – Friday, plus occasional overtime as required.
